DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, November 18th @ The Rite Spot Cafe – 8pm – FREE \nJoin us for a night of unique music\, personality and libations. \nConspiracy of Beards is a 30-member a cappella male choir which performs exclusively the songs of the legendary poet\, novelist\, and singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen. Inspired by the late performing artist Peter Kadyk and directed by Daryl Henline\, the group performs gritty\, uplifting renditions of Cohen’s songs in 4 and 5 part harmonies. http://conspiracyofbeards.com/ \nHazy Loper was formed by instrument maker and song writer Patrick Kadyk in the fall of 2000. The group combines the sound of Kadyk’s banjos and vocals with percussion by Down River’s Anah K\, mandolin and trumpet by multi-instrumentalist Daryl Henline\, and clarinets by Tim White. The resulting sound is a fascinating marriage between the music of Appalachia and that of nomadic cultures from the East\, and in turn reflects the often dark and wandering spirit of nomads and loners and the stormy skies that frame them. http://www.outofroundrecords.com/hazy/index.html \nPeter Whitehead is an instrument builder\, performer\, songwriter\, composer and writer. His instruments are often based on folk instruments from around the world\, and feature unusual or found materials in place of traditional ones\, (e.g. a banjo made from a metal pan). He performs his own solo work using these instruments and is a member of Closer To Carbon and Mobius Operandi.
