Event Page: Conspiracy of Beards @ Soundwave ((6)) – Modernist Movements at the de Young Museum
Show Times: 6:20pm & 8:00pm
This is a FREE event!
We are honored to announce that we will be kicking off our 12th season on Friday, September 5th as part of the Soundwave ((6)), San Francisco’s acclaimed biennial of innovative sound, art, and music presented by MEDIATE Art Group! Conspiracy of Beards will sing two sets at Friday Nights at the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park. This year’s Soundwave theme is water, so we will be performing a set of Leonard Cohen songs that touch on this subject in one way or another.
There are also a few other performers taking part in the event including:
Jay Kreimer, who has toured widely, performing on his invented instruments and computer configurations. He has composed and performed a series of conceptual, audience-interactive computer compositions, notably in the last three Soundwave series in San Francisco.
Moses Hacmon, a collaborative artist, photographer, and architect whose main interest is the constant creation of physical objects that represent the spirit of the present time and space, both in architecture and art. This project he calls Faces Of Water, which exposes the movement within water, previously invisible to our eyes.
Luciano Chessa, a composer, conductor, pianist, and musical saw/Vietnamese dan bau soloist, active in Europe, the U.S., Australia, and South America. Recent compositions include Set and Setting, a San Francisco Contemporary Music Players commission; LIGHTEST, an SFMOMA commission; Squeeze! Squeeze! Squeeze!, a large-scale work written for The Living Earth Show; and A Heavenly Act, an opera with original video by Kalup Linzy commissioned by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
