Dada Bordello
An evening of carnivalesque burlesque capping off two weeks of divine madness. A kind of mini-Dada Ball following in footsteps of Cabaret Voltaire, we tread the fine line between weirdness and epiphany. Conspiracy of Beards, Poetics of Narrative, Will Alexander, Luciano Chessa, Cara Rose DeFabio, The Slow Poisoner, Allison Lovejoy, and Saw Ledoh. Admission is free, but ticket availability is limited. Tickets become available at City Lights Booksellers & Publishers on 10/18. No reservations taken over the phone or internet.

Dada World Fair
In the month of November 2016, over one hundred years after the fateful meetings at Cabaret Voltaire took place, City Lights Booksellers & Publishers with the help of friendly partnering organizations celebrates the hundredth anniversary of the emergence of Dada. Through lectures, roundtables, performances, film screenings, and art installations, we will be exploring the myriad dimensions of an art movement that defied description in its day and that left an indelible influence on the world of art, pop culture, and beyond.

Events will take place all around San Francisco. Keep a close eye on the calendar. Dada World Fair is a work in progress. The schedule will change according to the weather. Events that appear solid may be more fluid and events that appear fluid may be more solid. The borders between art and life will once again be tested. We may never be able to fully explain what Dada is, but you may be able to experience the mystery in all of its incendiary magnificence.
